The Bromont Program is the first of its kind in the world. By pairing the transformative power of art with holistic re-entry services, we are able to empower the formerly incarcerated to not only change their own lives but also change the way the world sees them, through the films they create.
The 10,000 prisoners being released each week find themselves facing the numerous challenges that come along with re-entry.
ENVIRONMENT FOR SUCCESS
Providing necessities like housing, food, transportation, and employment allows for focus on enrichment while fostering life experience.
Valuable skills are taught, including etiquette, managing finances, finding employment, and managing a household.
Fellows are welcomed into a community of mentors and peers, all with a common goal for long-term success, and a passion for film.
MAKING A MOVIE
We know that art has the power to change lives-both for those creating it, and for those taking it in. The Bromont Program is run by the formerly incarcerated and empowers us to tell our own story, literally crafting it from concept-to-finish, by way of writing classes, professional mentorship, and partnerships with big names in the film industry.
OUR OWN NARRATIVES HAVE NEVER BEEN HEARD BEFORE ON A GLOBAL FILM PLATFORM.
Bromont Program inspires worldwide change by bringing middle-America into proximity of the marginalized. The world needs to hear who we are, through stories written by us, in our own voices.
